The private sector in the Buffalo area grew by 5.3 percent in the past 10 years, outperforming 42 of the nation’s 106 major markets. Erie and Niagara counties added 24,000 private-sector jobs between August 2006 and the same month this year, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
